Sorry but the quote had been reprinted in a Railway Gazette.  These magazines, together with many other pre-1900 railroad titles, are available at Linda Hall Library, but you have to download each issue at about 20 MB per issue - you can't view them on line. With 52 issues per year, one has to be selective!

Can I ask where you found Aurora Beacon News back issues on line ? I have been unable to do so and go to the Aurora Librbary and use micrfiche.Having it available on the internet would sure make things easier.
