If they were contemplating making this a 3-track span, I would have thought they would have done it now.  However, with the new temporary span, they are either planning on replacing the plate girders with a span similar to what they are adding on the eastern side of the river, or...could they be thinking about adding a curve to the south to complete a wye to the K-line?

they installed a tempeory open deck bridge section ys=esterday between the old shore prier and new shore prier.looks to be around 200' long and the excavated the soil from underneath the span. that would be j-peg 3-4-5
j-peg 6 shows the news preirs that are or will be supporting the new bridge sections.I am just thinking out load here but there is the same amout sticking out the north side of the bridge.could they be setting up to triple track this bridge someday?
