I have no personal interest or involvement in this book....... however
simply as a recommendation if your interested in reading about RR folklore and
human side of RRing written on the same level as the great fiction writers
of the past pick up a copy of "Snow on the Rails" by Dennis Boyer,Badger
Books,2003.
There isn't a picture in the book but dont worry the author makes you feel
that not only are you there but you feel the temperature and settings as if
you are there.
I am only part way thru the book but cant wait to continue
on........there's chapter on a carman,a tower operator, a drover, a tie
supplier,etc,etc.etc.
The author was a Milw carman for several years and he is dead on in his
descriptions. The word "dead" is very appropriate as he almost was in the first
chapter.
