The existing Batavia Depot museum is the depot from the West Chicago aka Turner
Jct branch aka Aurora Branch RR that still exists. It was relocated to west
side of the Fox River to a park ironically adjacent to C&NW r.o.w. The last
Agent in Batavia ("66 sounds right) was a short chubby fellow who moved from
Batavia in late 1980's. I have his name at home somewhere as purchased the
depot phone from him (one of the old oak box wind-ups) when he moved. I can ck
my TT's to see last date a mixed is shown if you need to doublecheck that
Zephyr article Richard. We are fortunate that 2 of the depots & nearly all of
the original r.o.w. of this line that was the entire CB&Q at one time, still
exist (W. Chicago being the other depot) Gerald
