Leo,
I don’t know the reason, other than I've noticed that only the "newer" cast
keys seem to have numbers on them, at least the ones I have seen. Probably the
numbers were an attempt to keep track of the keys, I heard of an instance
where they did some keys that weren't marked and it took longer for them to be
"lost".
I have an old Milwaukee switch lock made of brass, ironically a Milwaukee key
won't work in it, but a C&NW will, go figure.......

Subject: [CBQ] Switch Key ?
Thanks Ed,Steve and Gerald.
Funny Steve mentioned transfers. That's how I came to have my foreign road
key collection.
2nd question why do some Q keys have #s on the back side?
Leo Phillipp
