Yes, I made that statement, and it came from Q paint records that I
viewed here in Denver but was not able to copy -- so I can't verify it
again today.

     If I recall correctly, the statement was made that virtually all of the
     passenger diesels were repainted with red nose stripes by 1960. If I am
     wrong that this statement was made, please let me know.

     In any case, on page 46 of Michael J. Spoor's Chicago, Burlington &
     Quincy In Color, Volume I, there is a picture of 9985A in black nose
     stripes, captioned as leading train 10, the Denver Zephyr, into Aurora
     in May 1961. On the adjacent track is the Morning Twin Zephyr, led by
     an E7A with red nose stripes.
