I never really considered the question, assuming that except for elaborate
stone/brick/concrete depots in more populated areas, the small local wood ones
were built by the Burlington's B&B forces. However an old local newspaper
Mike Avitt (Iowa Q enthusiast) rummaged thru had the following: (Feb 8, 1906)
Re: Grant City, MO "Grant City's new depot is completed and has been received
from the contractors, Mssr's Killingsworth & Wittmer. Burlington inspectors
pronounced it one of the bestbuilts and best finished depots on the line."
Gerald
