HI all:
1. I have a shot of one of the ex-troop kitchen cars at Oregon,
Illinois, in June 1970 freshly painted in MOW orange with black
lettering but no CB&Q herald. Car number is 250068. The repainting
would have happened right before or after the merger, which could
explain the lack of herald.
2. One of the cars converted to a power car was on the Verde Canyon
Railroad in Clarkdale, Arizona, as its no. 110 when I visited there
five years ago. I've rooted a bit tonight and can't find my notes, but
my recollection is that the car was last based in Wyoming and had been
converted to a power car either by the CB&Q or BN. The Arizona
excursion service started in 1990, and I don't know if this car was
part of the original rolling stock.
The Verde Canyon photos are in my Oregon, Ill., album on the CBQ Yahoo
group site.
