[CBQ] Mt Morris Track Plan

Jerry thanks a bunch for the details on tracks and Kable as I  didnt work 
Oregon-Mt Morris job until early 70s when most of what you described  was 
idle or gone.You filled in some blanks for me about all the other tracks I  
remember in Mt Morris. Sounds like the twice a week run to Mt Morris is  still 
SOP as it was in the 70s. Although I think it was based the # of cars for  
Kable as it seemed the job would also run over there as needed.
Newsprint cars were CN,CP and New England roads.
 
Tom, I recall hauling trailers on flats to Mt Morris and  spotting them at 
Kable on the cars for loading.
 
Power on the job in the 50/60s was an NW2. Then a GP7. It  was shuttled 
there on the Oregon or Chadwick turn and later in BN days on  181/353/364. I 
think we've already discussed how printed material moved out of  the plant and 
made the connection at Oregon and Aurora extensively on this list  prior to 
TOFC operations.
 
The BN spins book(industry listing) shows a Sakrete  operation,remember 
anything about it ?
 
The Kable info. Steve has for his article is really impressive  as to the 
volume of what Kable produced.
 
 
There is a good amount of material in the UTU local 171 files  on the MT 
Morris motor car and local passenger service operations. Also on the  
reduction of crew size when the motor car went into service
 
 
Finally I suspect that between the memories of the various  writers on this 
subject,Steves Kable info and the UTU files that discuss the  early history 
all the way back to Forreston operations there's potential for a  Bulletin 
article .
