The original Falstaff Brewery was in St. Louis, owned by the Lemp family.
Some of the buildings still stand, across the interstate from the
Anheuser-Busch brewery. The history of this company is very interesting and
surprising ? in 1890, Lemp Brewing becomes the first brewery to distribute
nationally and is the first to use refrigerated rail cars.

Jeez, Falstaff, there's a name that brings back memories. When I was kid and
my family would go back to Quincy to visit relatives, everyone would get
together on Friday or Saturday night. At some point in the evening, my
Father and one of my uncles would walk up to the corner bar with a brown
"moonshine" jug and get it filled with Falstaff beer and bring it back.
I rember half the bars in Quincy had Falstaff Beer signs with the tavern
name at the bottom, hanging over the sidewalk.
