The USRA 2-8-2s and 2-10-2s (and for that matter the 0-6-0s and 0-8-0s)
retained their "USRA" Smoke Box Fronts and Doors.
The Q design locomotives did indeed have "Flat" Smoke Box Fronts which were a
Burlington Route characteristic, although other railroads used this design
which may be a Baldwin standard.
The 4960 got a "USRA"-ish Smoke Box Front during its rebuild on the Grand
Canyon Railroad, making it very ordinary looking. If it weren't for the Q
"sports" cab and the awfull ATSF Oil Tender you could mistake the loco for a
USRA Mikado.
