Here is a compilation of the few notes that I collected on this subject -
The CB&Q's "Boeing" cars were numbered 91900-91901, built by Thrall Maxson in
1968, and 91902-91904 built by the same company in 1969. A noticeable feature
was the very flat decks. I understand that they were assigned to Boeing and
that the first two had canopies. I also have a note that they were assigned to
Long Beach (which I managed to confuse with Long Island!) Their new BN numbers
may have been 630294-630298 but that is not certain. (see below)
In the Freight Car Journal #68 from 1995, there was an article by James Kinkaid
article "Aircraft Parts Cars: A Look at the Boeing Fleet". Would anyone have
a copy of this who can advise what coverage there was of CB&Q flats?
A book entitled (possibly) "Planes on Trains" was published in several volumes
and may have something of relevance
I believe that Andrew Klamka is an expert on this topic but I was unsuccessful
if contacting him.
One of my correspondents replied advised that, according to the BN Diagram
Book, 91901-91904, built 1969, were renumbered to BN 630295-630298. They had
Boeing hoods on the decks in the diagram, but he had a photo of BN 630295 and
on the sill was CB&Q 94295 (That was an FM-3C - RG). It was definitely not a
Boeing flat.
Not much, I'm afraid.
