You are correct. BIC trains were the best/only ones.
Of course it did make it even much better to start
using copy machines. Then you can forget the carbons!

Double sided carbons used for multiple copy train orders. First carbon went
between 2nd and 3rd sheet for a three copy order (C&E+office copy), then
between every other sheet for more copies.
In later years the BIC pens were the best for orders as they didn't clog up
like other pens.
