Is the bridge going to be passable during construction?
Or how will they route trains over the Mississippi River?

Afternoon All
According to the lead story in the Burlington Hawkeye newspaper this morning
bids will accepted inlate summer with construction starting in November of this
year to change the brigde from a draw span to a lift span with 300'clearence.
the final soucre of funds came from the stimulus package that have come from
the Obama adminastraion. the way i read the article is this is the first phase
and the second phase will be to replace the rest of the structrue.
phase one is $56 million withe federal goverment paying $55 million
phase two will cost $120 million and no timetable as of now
