Hey Kids,
Remember when railfanning in Oquawka be sure to see the "Norma Jean Memnorial"
It's worth the trip. Also the town diner has some great eats at a good price,
not to mention the fish fry on Fridays.

I would like to complain about the alleged heritage unit. Shouldn't it have
been painted as a "Gray Ghost"? After all it is a wide cab!!
For next year I think a SD-40-2 with a high hood and high mounted mars lights
front and back should be painted as a graybird. Oooh-oooh and those funky
flared spark arrestors and a all weather cab window.

Wait, better still, a silver Metra F-59 with stainless side panels and Black
grills.
Loren get busy.

Happy modeling,
Rob Manley

The Peoria and Oquawka was originally authorized to build from Peoria
to Oquawka, that was changed in 1852 to from Peoria to a point opposite
from Burlington. It was also authorized to extend said road from Peoria
to a point on the Indiana border. This extention was completed in 1859
and subsequently sold at forclosure sale to the TP&W in 1864. The line
west from Peoria was completed to Burlington via Galesburg in 1855 and
was operated by the CB&Q, This line was sold by foreclosure sale to CB&Q
in 1864 and was renamed Peoria and Burlington and then merged into the CB&Q.

So it is a BNSF Heritage road.

itself as a separate road before the 1995 merger, I'm not sure the TP&W and
it's predecessors would quality as a BNSF heritage railroad?
