As far as I know, car 500 was in 9900's consist only (when it was not in
storage) since it was introduced in June 1938. A few years ago lawyer Ron
Lorenzini Jr. bought 9903 and car 500, and I know I've seen a photo of 500
spliced into the MTZ when it was still on its trucks under his ownership.
But that was a "fantasy train" consist only.
