The information I have for Clarion matches what Russ has furnished, but here is
additional information. Alignment charts from as far back as 1930 show a stub
track with a switch on the east end, and stock yards at MP 87.74. The point of
switch on the EB main is still shown on the Right of Way map, and was at Survey
Station 4632+33, which calculates to MP 87.734. It was a few feet west of a
concrete box culvert, and my recollection is that you can still spot the switch
location. The stub track was between 800' and 900' long. Clarion may have
been a double ended siding at some point. Whether it had a depot or not, I
don't know. However, it did have an official Survey Station and MP. The Q
identified most timetable stations this way using a Survey "Station Used for
Mileage". This may or may not have been the depot location, but in any event
the SUFM for Clarion was 4637+27, which is MP 87.827. This location is very
close to the crossing that you refer to.
