   Tom,

The track from Farmington through Milton to Bloomfield was built in 1872 
by the Burlington and Southwestern, a successor to the Ft. Madison, 
Farmington and Western who had built from Viele to Farmington. In 1882 
the B&SW was sold to the Chicago, Burlington  and Kansas City Railway. 
In 1901 the CB&KC was sold to the CB&Q.
