Hi,

I found this forum after I learned about the General Pershing Zephyr
that ran on the Chicago and Alton route between St. Louis and Kansas
City. I have a train order dated June 1946 which has engine #9925B on
the CB&Q #20 train. This I understand was the Zephyr. I know it was
discontinued sometime in the late 40's because only GM&O doodle bugs
ran on that route in the 1950's.

Questions....When was it discontinued and what other
trains(freights)did the Burlington run on the Alton to KC in those days?

I am assuming that the freights were steam because the GM&O kept
coaling facilities for the Burlington engines after they went all diesel.

Thanks, jim
