I know from time to time due to derailments, line washouts, etc.
foreign road passenger trains were diverted over Q trackage. For
example, I remember a photo somewhere in one of Spoor's books of a SF
Chief running on the Q.
Does anyone have a list of documented cases of this happening? I am
especially interested in whether any MILW or C&NW trains between
Chicago and the Northwest might have been diverted over the Q line
through Savanna between Chicago and MPLS/StP during the late 1960's.
