The beer distributor that Russ references was Magill Beverage. It moved from
Alley Job trackage at what was then Walnut St (now New York St) in Aurora
sometime after the Mongtomery Industrial park opened. It was located west of
Rte
31 near Aucutt Ave.
It was the Budweiser franchise. The SLRX reefers came from St. Louis. At
some point in the 60s this business went to trucks. Magill is no longer in
business.
Russ, I had never heard of this arrangement before but it certainly makes
since as it cut two days off the delivery of the beer !
