List,

FWIW the WFB cars were RSB - Reefer Standard Bulk, For those interested
these cars had sloped floors from the side walls to the middle. There was a
longitudinal chain conveyor that stopped just short of the door. There were
3/4" or 1" thick plywood covers that went over the conveyor. There were 2 to 2
1/2 inch thick boards that fit inside the doors (like grain boards). A channel
went across the width of the car that also had plywood covers.

The bottom board had a door that opened and the consignee would open this
little door and than insert a conveyor that had a rubber belt. There were drive
dogs on the conveyor shafts that would mate with the consignee's electric
drive.

Once the car was opened and the unloading conveyor set up a car could be
unloaded in an hour or hour and half. When heaters were used table stock was
set at 40 degrees and chipping potatoes were set at 60 degrees. If my season
would run into June the local ice house had a truck with a scissors lift and
would come down and ice the cars.

When the cars were converted with plug doors thats when the claims would go
up for frozen potatoes. There were as tight as the regular doors.

  Lenny
