[CBQ] re: road @ W. portal; E. Dbq tunnel

The road in question is the former approach to the original vehicle 
bridge from E. Dbq to Dbq.  Was torn down when the then 'new' one was 
built downstream a bit in the 40's (there is an even newer bridge now 
upstream that replaced a ormer privately owned toll bridge eveb 
further north in the 90's.  In any case, the road in question still 
exits but is overgrown with trees & brush and only gets high enough 
the tracks to clear them.  Like rail traffic thru the tunnel, cars on 
the old bridge made a 90 degree turn at the bridge to cross.  There 
never has been a road at top of the bluff.
You can hike up the low road (former bridge approach) to get a few 
feet above passing trains.   Gerald
