Bill,

Thanks for the update on the accuracy of 3rd Rail's CB&Q Hudsons and
for writing to 3rd rail about them.

In your previous post, you indicated that Precision Scale had
previously produced the Q Hudsons, so why did 3rd Rail also choose
to do Q Hudsons? I was under the impression that Precision Scale
only made their's in 2-rail O-scale, where 3rd Rail is also doing
their's in 3-rail O-gauge to supply both sides of the O market.
Being a 3-railer myself, I could not justify the $3000 for one of
Precision Scale's Hudsons since I would not be able to run it (the
Precision Scale Aeolus that I saw at a hobby store was absolutely
beautiful!).

I am very glad to see 3rd Rail offer these Hudsons and, hopefully,
with input from fans like yourself, they will do a very great job
with the models. I have the #3007 on order for myself (it was the
first Q Hudson that I ever saw, when it was on Quincippi Island).

Do you plan on attending the BRHS Fall 2004 Meet in Galesburg? The
Spring Oregon meet had both 3-rail (3rd Rail #5632, Williams
heavyweight cars, MTH Pioneer Zephyr) and 2-rail (Precision Scale
Hudson, 3rd Rail 4-8-4) O scale models on display. It is always a
treat to meet other CB&Q O modelers.

Thanks,

CB&Q Bill
