What is THE AUTOMATIC HOBO????and from whence came its name.

I'm afraid to give any hints too soon for fear of giving the answer away 
prematurely.

I'll wait a couple of days and, depending on the response, I'll post a hint 
or two.

This is probably obvious, but I'll say it anyway...It's a "thing" not a
