Thanks to all who replied to my query! This is the first venture I've made
into seriously studying operational practices on the Q. Goes to show that

David,

Two trains can not operate on the same schedule. The logic behind
which number to use is not too difficult.
#19 ran to Denver. If the schedule retained out of Chicago had been
#11 there still would have had to be a #19 from Lincoln to Denver.
Using the "thru" schedule for the entire distance is simpler and less
confusing.
