Dave, I'm speculating, but since the "Coloradoan" carried the same number between Chicago and Denver, using 19 and 6 would be less confusion for passenger agents and ticket clerks writing tickets and routing passengers over Burlington lines. A change in train number may suggest changing trains at Lincoln. But I may be way off course, as perhaps it was purely for operational reasons.
