As many of you know trains can often be as quiet as the proverbial mouse. Snow, rain, fog, heavy humidity, etc can all hide the noise of a train in movement.Night darkness only compounds the silence. There is nothing quieter than a car rolling along in the yard after beeing "kicked". Many a railroader has been injured because he didn't hear it coming. Leo [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |
