I can tell you for sure that the numbers on the SD-45s at least, were
green on the white stripe, as I looked at them when I was hostler at
Croxton yard on the E L in 1970. Microscales decal set has black numbers
in it.

The Sky Blue GN scheme was their replacement for the green and orange.
