I've been told that the steepest grade on the Q was the hill leaving
Sheridan WY going east. Understand the mallets were built to be used here
and they were soon transfered to the Black Hills as the hill out of Sheridan
is only approximately 1 mile long and the Black Hills had longer grades.
This may be the Q proper as the Leadville branch (C&S) is quite steep.
Still need several helpers to get out of Sheridan today, especially with the
long loaded coal trains.
