John,standard length, like always,depended on capacity of tank.But, yes back then when a BIG car was a 20mg, standard length was less than a 40' box. Remember many of these cars were 4,6,and 8,000 gallon capacity.W/O going to engineering and asking for drawings but based on may I've looked at I'd generalize at 28'-36'.
