Curious-- would "box car" coal be loaded into retail coaling sheds like those used on the D&RGW that had a door on the back/track side? Coal was shoveled from gons into the bins for access from the front. Shoveling through the door of a box car into a bin door would be relatively easy as you would not have to clear the side of a gon.
