Leo,

This sisn't the Q but the way it worked on the CNW was if you have to 
couple hoses you made 1.81 for one hose or a hundred. This was the days of 
carmen and they did all the air work. When I started (72) you would get this 
on a switch engine that went out to the (addition) to switch Ralston. 

At this time it was a good bit of money but the rate was frozen and has 
never changed. Of course there are no carmen around for us any more and you 
have to couple all the hoses regardless so today it isn't too much of a 
burden to the carrier.

The utility man really appreciates the extra money when it is 10 degrees 
and he has to couple up the 100 ADM empties and then maybe do 100 AGRI 
empties to boot!
